# Company data: by domain vs by name

Company Lookup fills in company details — industry, size, website and more
— for rows that already have a company domain. For rows without a domain,
the Company Enrichment wizard can search by company name instead.

## By domain vs by name

In the Enrich menu, Company Lookup works by domain only: it uses the domain
from your email, domain or website column. Personal addresses such as Gmail
are skipped. To search by company name when there is no domain, run the
Company Enrichment wizard (Enrich menu → ENRICHMENT WIZARDS) or use the
single-cell fill window on an empty company cell. A name-based match is
less certain than a domain match, especially for short or generic company
names, so check that the company it found is actually the one you meant

## What fields it fills

Company name, domain, website, industry, employee count and LinkedIn
company URL, plus address (street, postal code, city, state, country),
metrics (revenue, founded year, company type, description, NAICS code) and
social links (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, logo). Pick exactly
which of these you want from the selection bar's Enrich → Company → field
groups.

## The cache

Company data is the same for every ListPlus customer who looks up the same
domain, so a shared, free cache serves repeat lookups of a domain without

### Does Company Lookup work by domain or by company name?

0.25 credits per company found, by domain or by name; a miss or a company already in the ListPlus company cache costs nothing. The Company Enrichment wizard shows a range of 0.25–1.75 credits per row, because it can add LinkedIn and Crunchbase steps on top of the basic lookup.

### Why did a company lookup return nothing?

The row needs a usable domain (from an email, domain or website column) to search with. Rows with a personal email address (Gmail, Outlook …) and no company domain are skipped by Company Lookup; run the Company Enrichment wizard instead to try a name-based search.

### Is repeating a company lookup free the second time?

Often, yes. When ListPlus already has current data for a domain, the lookup is served from ListPlus's company cache and costs nothing.

### Can I get funding or technology data on top of the basic company profile?
