# How enrichment works

Enrichment fills the gaps in a list: missing emails, phone numbers, LinkedIn
profiles, job titles and company data. ListPlus asks specialised providers,
keeps the best value per field, and only charges credits when data is
actually found (a few checks charge per attempt — see the price list).

## Where to start

- **The Enrich button** in the list toolbar — ready-made assistants (Company
  Enrichment, Campaign-Ready, Full Profile) and single steps grouped by goal.
- **The selection bar**, after selecting rows — pick exactly which fields to
  fill for just those rows.
- **The wand icon** that appears on hover over an empty, enrichable cell —
  fills that one cell.
- **The record panel**, open on a single row — runs any single lookup for
  that contact.

## Before you run it: the plan

When you enrich selected rows from the selection bar, ListPlus shows a plan
before anything is charged: which contacts qualify, the route it will use,
and the worst case, shown as "at most N cr for M contacts". The "only what
is missing" switch, on by default, lists only fields that still have gaps,
and rows that already have every chosen field are skipped. Actual cost is

## What happens with the results

Results land in a data layer next to each row first — cells are never
overwritten silently. When a run finishes, ListPlus asks "Fill empty cells
with enrichment data?" Yes fills only empty cells as unsaved edits you can
review before saving; No leaves the data available to merge later from the

value for each field, and a value you typed into the grid yourself is never
overwritten.

## Good to know

- Keep the list open until a run finishes. You can keep working in the list
  meanwhile.
- If a row was already enriched but its cells stayed empty, "Apply values" in
  the Enrich menu or "Merge all" in the record panel writes the stored data
  into the empty cells for free.
- Repeating a LinkedIn, company or person lookup that already found data is
  usually served from ListPlus's cache at no cost.
- Save your edits before starting an enrichment; the Enrich menu blocks it.
- In a workspace, enrichment spends the **workspace owner's** credits (see
  "[Credits, plan and limits in a workspace](https://listplus.ai/en/help/workspaces/billing-in-workspaces)"). If that balance runs out during a run, the run
  stops and the remaining rows aren't charged — see "Enrichment jobs:
  progress, batches and limits".
- Checks in Analyze are free and show you which rows are ready and which
  need enrichment first.

## FAQ

### How do I enrich my list?

Click Enrich in the list toolbar and choose an assistant such as Campaign-Ready or a single step such as Company Lookup. To enrich only some rows, select them first and use the selection bar instead. Every run shows the worst-case cost before it starts; see "[Which Enrich button do I use?](https://listplus.ai/en/help/enrich/which-enrich-button)" for which entry point fits your situation.

### Which data can enrichment add?

Company data (industry, size, location, website, LinkedIn page), LinkedIn profiles, verified emails, company and personal mobile numbers, and email verification results. Free local clean-ups (like formatting phone numbers) and AI-derived fields such as gender or seniority are also available from the Enrich button.

### What does enrichment cost?

Costs range from 0.1 credits for an email check up to 30 credits for a deep email-and-phone search, and almost every lookup only charges when it actually finds something. ### Why were my cells not filled after the enrichment?

Results are stored next to each row and only written into cells once you confirm the "Fill empty cells with enrichment data?" dialog. If you chose No thanks, select the rows, open the Enrich menu and click "Apply values", then apply on the "Fill empty" tab. ### What does the enrichment need to work?

At least one identifier per row: an email or domain for company data, a LinkedIn URL or a name plus company for person data. ListPlus picks the best available input automatically and skips rows that have nothing usable.

### Why does the same enrichment cost nothing the second time?

LinkedIn profile, company and person lookups that already returned data are kept in ListPlus's cache for a while — person lookups (Prospeo, FullEnrich) for 7 days in your workspace. Running them again is served from the cache and shows as cached in the progress, without spending credits. Lookups that found nothing are run again.

### Can I enrich a single contact instead of the whole list?

Yes. Select just that row and use Enrich, or click the wand icon that appears on hover over an empty, enrichable cell to fill only that one field. The record panel also lets you run any single lookup for one contact.

### Which source wins when several providers return different values?

ListPlus keeps the most reliable value for each field, and a value you typed into the grid yourself is never overwritten by enrichment. If a different provider value suits you better, edit the cell directly. ### Can I close the tab while an enrichment is running?

Keep the list open until the run finishes, because the "Fill empty cells with enrichment data?" prompt only appears while the list is open. Results already found are stored on the row. If you left early, reopen the list, select the rows, and use "Apply values" in the Enrich menu (tab "Fill empty") to write them into empty cells for free.

### How do I know which button to click to enrich?

It depends on scope: the Enrich button for a ready-made assistant or the whole list, the selection bar to pick exact fields for selected rows, the wand icon for one empty cell, and the record panel for one contact.
