**Person Search** (Personensuche) is for one specific person you already know
by name, email, LinkedIn URL or role — not for a whole audience. Open it with
**Person** in the left navigation (the person icon; on narrow screens hover
it to see "Person Search"). The page's switcher at the top calls it **Person
Search**.

## Search for a person

Type into the field ("Name, company, email or LinkedIn URL") and click
**Search**, or start from one of the example cards (below). Good inputs
are a name with a company ("Satya Nadella, Microsoft"), a LinkedIn profile
URL, an email address, a company domain, or a role question such as "current
CEO of BMW". ListPlus shows what it recognised as **Understood as** chips
(name, company, location and similar). Understanding your input and looking
for matching people are free.

If your text actually describes a group of people rather than one person
("marketing managers in Berlin"), ListPlus recognizes that and shows **Open
in Segment Search** to open the same criteria there instead, since a target
group is a filter job.

## Example cards on the start page

Before you search, the Person Search page shows **Recently viewed** (if you
have opened profiles before) and below it six example cards under **Try an
example**: **Name + company**, **Role at a company**, **Company or domain**,
**LinkedIn profile**, **E-mail address** and **E-mail signature**. Clicking
a card only fills the search field with its example — it never starts a
search on its own, so nothing is charged until you click **Search**. The
E-mail address and E-mail signature cards (**Paste into search**) leave the
field empty for you to paste your own. Below the cards, links lead to the
Inbox for whole e-mails or many contacts at once, and to Segment Search or
AI Research when you are looking for several matching people.

## Pick the right person

For a name search, ListPlus stops at a checkpoint before anything is
charged, even when it found only one match: **Which person do you mean?**,
asking "Is this the right person?" underneath when there's just one
candidate. Each card shows name, headline, location, whether the company
matches and, once you're signed in, the estimated cost of loading the
profile. People you have looked at before carry an **In history** badge.
Click the right card to open the profile. If nobody fits, click **Refine
search** under "Not the right one?" and add a location or role.

If you enter an exact identifier — a LinkedIn URL, an email address or a
company domain — there is no one to choose between, so ListPlus skips this
step and loads the result straight onto the page, including the basics
described below.

## What the profile shows and what it costs

Picking a person opens the profile drawer and automatically loads the
"basics" — the LinkedIn profile and the company profile — for about 0.75
credits combined, each part only charged if it is found. Auto-loading is on
by default; to turn it off, click **Auto-load basics: on** below the profile
(or **Turn off** while the basics are loading). With it off, profiles you
pick open with a **Basics (profile, company)** bar and a **Load** button
instead. The setting is remembered in this browser. The drawer shows contact
details, career history, education, company information and how many
sources the profile was enriched from; career stops, employees and similar
companies are clickable and open a new search in a new tab.

From there, add-on cards such as a verified email, a mobile number or
company details each run only when you click them and show their price
first, charged only when they find something. Exact prices and what each

## Recently viewed

Before you search, the idle Person Search page shows **Recently viewed** —
your last 6 touched contacts, most recent first. Click one to reopen it
straight from the stored snapshot: it hydrates the drawer instantly, with no
new search and no credits charged. Only 6 stay visible here; to keep a
person for longer, save or file it (below).

## Save or add to a list

A profile where at least one lookup found data counts as enriched and stays
on the **Saved** page (left navigation) automatically, without expiring. To
sort someone into a folder, use **Save in …** in the drawer header and pick
a folder or **New folder …**. To move a result into a list, click **Add to list**: pick one
under "Add to an existing list" (free), or create one with **New list** or
**…or create a new list** (1 credit, like a file import). If the person is
already in that list, the entry is merged instead of duplicated. "Saved

## Without an account

You can try Person Search without an account. Understanding your input and
the list of matching people are free, and you can open a few full profiles
free to try it out before ListPlus asks you to sign up (free, email address
and one-time code, no password). Paid add-ons and adding to a list need an
account. After sign-up, the search you were running continues in your new
account; profiles you viewed before signing up aren't carried over
afterward.

## If nothing is found

Check the spelling, add the company or city, or pick one from **Similar
names — same last name, different first name** if ListPlus suggests any.

## For advanced users

A role question ("current CEO of BMW") shows a slightly different
checkpoint: "These people match your question" (or "Is this the person you
mean?" for a single match) instead of "Which person do you mean?". If you search too quickly in a row, ListPlus asks you to wait a
moment before trying again. Results loaded directly onto the page from a LinkedIn URL,
email or company domain have no **Save in …** button — reopen them from Recently viewed to get the profile drawer with Save in …. You can

## FAQ

### What are the example cards on the Person Search page?

Under Try an example, six cards show what you can search for: Name + company, Role at a company, Company or domain, LinkedIn profile, E-mail address and E-mail signature. Clicking one only fills the search field (the e-mail and signature cards let you paste your own); nothing is searched or charged until you click Search. The cards show only while the field is idle, below Recently viewed.

### How do I find a specific person?

Click Person in the left navigation and type a name with the company, a LinkedIn URL, an email address or a company domain. For a name, ListPlus first shows the matching people for free and you click the right one; the profile then opens with its basics loaded for about 0.75 credits, each part only charged when found. A LinkedIn URL, email or domain skips that choice and loads the result directly.

### What can I type into Person Search?

A name with a company ("Satya Nadella, Microsoft"), a LinkedIn profile URL, an email address, a company domain, or a role question such as "current CEO of BMW". A last name on its own isn't enough to find candidates — add the first name or the company. A description of a group ("marketing managers in London") is recognised, and ListPlus shows an Open in Segment Search button to run the same criteria there instead.

### Why does ListPlus ask "Which person do you mean?"

Because the same name usually belongs to several people, ListPlus shows the matches it found — with headline, location, whether the company matches and an "In history" badge for people you've looked at — and charges nothing until you click one. It asks even when there is only one match ("Is this the right person?"), so you never pay for the wrong profile. If nobody fits, click Refine search and add a location or role.

### What happens after I pick a person?

The profile opens in a drawer and its basics — the LinkedIn profile and the company profile — load automatically for about 0.75 credits, each part only charged when found. You then see contact details, career, education and company data, plus add-on cards for anything more. To stop the automatic loading, click "Auto-load basics: on" below the profile.

### What does the profile show me?

Contact details, career history, education, company information and how many sources it was enriched from. ### How do I get someone's email address or phone number?

Open the profile and click the add-on card you need; each shows its price before you run it and is only charged when it actually finds something. Add-ons costing 10 credits or more, such as a mobile number, ask you to confirm first. ### Are my Person Search results saved?

Yes, when you're signed in: every profile you open appears in Recently viewed on the idle Person Search page (the last 6; reopening costs nothing). A profile where at least one lookup found data counts as enriched and also stays on the Saved page without expiring, while one you only viewed doesn't show on Saved and drops out after 30 days of no activity. Use Save in … in the profile drawer's header to file someone into a folder.

### What is "Recently viewed" on the Person Search page?

It's a row of your last 6 touched contacts shown on the idle Person Search page before you search, most recent first. Clicking one reopens it straight from the stored snapshot — no new search, no credits charged — but it's not a full history: only 6 stay visible, so save or file a person if you want to keep them longer.

### How do I add a Person Search result to a list?

Click Add to list in the profile drawer, then pick an existing list (free) or choose …or create a new list (1 credit) — this needs an account. If the person is already there, ListPlus merges the new data into the existing row (matched by email, LinkedIn URL, phone or name and company) instead of creating a duplicate.

### Can I use Person Search without an account?

Yes — understanding your input and the list of matching people are free without an account, and you can open a few full profiles free to try it out. ### It says "You've used your free searches" — what now?

That message means the free profiles for visitors without an account are used up. Sign up free with your email address and a one-time code (no password) to keep searching; new accounts get 25 free credits, and a profile's basics cost about 0.75 credits.
