It is already loaded with realistic — and deliberately incomplete — contact data, so you can go from "empty account" to "checked, enriched, exported list" in about ten minutes, without touching your own data. ## 1. Sign up (or just look around first) You can browse the app without an account. The moment you want to open the sample list, save anything or spend credits, ListPlus asks you to sign in: enter your email address and a one-time code sent to it — no password, no credit card. New accounts start with **25 free credits**, which is enough for everything in this walkthrough. ## 2. Open the sample list On the **Home** page, a new account shows a **"Want a look first?"** card with an **Open sample list** button; the **Lists** page shows the same offer as **"Just want to look around?"** with an **Open a sample list** button. Either button loads the **Sample contacts** file straight into the import preview — 247 business contacts across 21 columns, with gaps and mistakes built in on purpose (missing company names and domains, missing job titles and genders, a few malformed email addresses, a couple of generic addresses like info@ and admin@). Click **Create List** to import it. Loading a sample goes through the exact same import as your own file: it costs **1 credit** and runs the same automatic column detection (a small extra amount of AI credit) that a normal import uses, so what you see next is what you'll see with your own files too. ## 3. Take the 3-step tour The first time a list opens, a short tour points out the essentials: 1. **Find & evaluate** — the field in the middle of the header, for searching the table or picking a goal to rate your data against. 2. **Your three workspaces** — one click opens **Analyze** (checks data quality and selects rows), **Record** (every field of one contact) or **Enrich** (finds emails, companies and contacts). 3. **Everything else in one place** — click **More** (the grid icon with a caret) to open sublists, change history, columns, prompts, automation and the dashboard. ## 4. See what needs fixing The **Analyze** panel opens and runs automatically — no button needed. You'll see a quality score, a distribution of contacts from excellent to unusable, and a list of checks such as "Company missing", "Job title missing" or "Invalid email format", each showing how many rows it affects. Running the checks is free, and the optional **Include AI Analysis** setting (off by default) is marked in the app as using credits. ## 5. Fix the quick wins Checks that can be corrected automatically (like capitalization or stray characters) show a **Fix** or **Fix all** button. Clicking it applies the correction to every matching row; this doesn't cost credits, but it does create unsaved edits — you'll see them highlighted in the grid. ## 6. Save Click **Save** in the header. Nothing you do in a list — fixes, edits, filled cells — is kept until you save it. If you try to leave the list with unsaved changes, ListPlus shows a warning with three choices — **Save**, **Discard** or **Cancel** (to stay on the page) — so your edits are only lost if you deliberately choose Discard. ## 7. Pick a goal In the **Find & evaluate** field, choose the **Cold Email** evaluation — a saved set of rules for what a contact needs to be ready for a specific job. Every row is instantly rated **ready**, **enrichable** (something needed for cold email is missing but can be looked up) or **unusable**, and a bar lets you filter by each status (details: "Is my list ready for cold email, CRM or calling?"). ## 8. Enrich a handful of rows To try enrichment without spending much, tick the checkbox next to 5 rows (pick some from the "enrichable" filter) and click **Enrich** in the selection bar that appears. A dialog titled **Enrich** ("5 contacts · choose what you want to enrich") lists fields to tick, grouped under Person, Company and Tasks & analyses — for example **Company** under Company data or **Email** under Contact details. As you tick data fields, the footer shows the maximum cost for the fields you picked, e.g. "at most N cr for 5 contacts" (this covers the data fields, not separate tasks like Verify email); click **Next**, then **Start enrichment**. Most lookups are only charged when they find something; a few checks, like Verify email, cost a small amount per check. When it finishes, a **"Fill empty cells with enrichment data?"** dialog asks whether to write the new values into the grid. Choose **Yes, fill empty cells** — this only touches cells that were empty and never overwrites data you already have. Save again to keep the result. ## 9. Export your result Export lives in a separate **⋯** icon button at the far right of the header (not the More button from step 3). Open it and choose **Export as Excel** for an instant download of the current list. For other formats and destinations — CSV, JSON, Google Sheets, HubSpot and more — choose **Export Data** in the same menu (or **Export Wizard** from the command palette, ⌘K) to open the export wizard, which lets you export a selection, a filtered view or the whole list. ## What this costs in total - Importing the sample: **1 credit**, plus a small amount of AI credit for automatic column detection. - Checks and fixes: **free**, and the optional **Include AI Analysis** setting (off by default) is marked in the app as using credits. - Saving and picking an evaluation: **free**. - Enriching 5 rows: the cost depends on which fields you tick. If you tick **Company** and **Email** for 5 contacts, expect roughly **2 to 21 credits** for this whole walkthrough. Example per-contact rates: company data by domain **0.25 credits**, a verified email with company phone **2 credits** (only if found), a full contact profile from an email **4 credits**. Most lookups are only charged when they find something; a few checks, like **Verify email** (0.1 credits), are charged per check per check. A mobile number costs **12 credits per hit**, so ticking Phone/Mobile for 5 contacts can use more than the 25 free credits you start with. The Enrich dialog shows the maximum cost for the data fields you pick before you confirm (every rate: price list). - Exporting: **free**. All told, importing the sample plus a Company/Email enrichment test on 5 rows typically uses somewhere between about 2 and 21 credits out of the 25 you get for free on sign-up — richer fields like Mobile can use more. ## If something looks different - If you already have lists, the Home page shows your list grid instead of the empty-state card; open **New List** and scroll to **"Want to try it first?"** to find the samples — there you also find **Sample companies**, a smaller reference list of well-known companies for testing company data and joins. - The tour only appears once per browser. If you don't see it, you've likely already seen it on this device — the walkthrough above still works without it. - If the sample list already looks clean, someone has run the checks and fixes before you (for example on a shared account) — you can still enrich and export it the same way. ## For advanced users The tour is stored per browser, not per account, so it reappears once in a private/incognito window or a different browser, but there is no in-app button to replay it on demand. To try enrichment cheaply, pick the "enrichable" filter after choosing an evaluation like Cold Email, then select just a handful of rows (for example 5) instead of the whole list. ListPlus shows the maximum cost for exactly the rows and fields you picked before you confirm. ### How much does it cost to try ListPlus?
