Rename, duplicate, delete and group your lists — all from the Home page
(where your lists live) or the project/list tree in the **Lists** view,
opened from its own rail icon. Lists and projects belong to the active
**workspace** and are shared with all its members: every member can open,
edit and rename a list, while duplicating, deleting and moving lists into
projects is for the workspace's owners and admins (see "Workspace roles and
permissions").

## Rename a list

Open the list, then click its name at the top of the screen — it turns into
a text field. Press **Enter** or click the checkmark to save, or the **✕**
to cancel. There's no rename option in the list's **⋯** menu; renaming only
happens this way, inside the open list.

## Duplicate a list

On Home or in the Lists view's tree, open a list's **⋯** menu and choose
**Duplicate**. This makes a full, independent copy — including any
enrichment data and tags already on the rows — at no credit cost. Only
owners and admins of the workspace see Duplicate. The copy gets the same
name with a number added, for example "Leads (2)", lands in the same
workspace (so every member sees it) and is not in any project; a toast
confirms it as "List duplicated as '...'". Duplicating is blocked if it
would push the workspace owner over their plan's record limit — see "Record
limit".

## Delete a list

If you are an owner or admin of the workspace, choose **Delete list** from
the same **⋯** menu and confirm with **Yes, delete**. The list is deleted
for every member of the workspace. This is permanent — see "Deleting lists,
contacts, and your account" for exactly what happens and what else you can
delete.

## Projects: grouping your lists

A **Project** is a folder for related lists — for example everything for
one campaign or client (see "[Navigation and glossary](https://listplus.ai/en/help/getting-started/navigation-and-glossary)" for
the short definition). Click **+ New** next to **Projects** on Home to
create one; it opens straight into an editable name field. Grouping lists
in a project doesn't merge their data, change ownership or affect the
record limit — each list still behaves on its own. Projects belong to the
workspace, so every member sees the same projects.

Move a list into a project by dragging its card onto the project's card on
Home, dragging it onto the project folder in the Lists view's tree, or from
the list's **⋯** menu on Home via **Move to project** (for owners and
admins of the workspace; the option appears once there is at least one
project). A list can only be
in one project at a time, so moving it into a new project takes it out of
the old one. To take a list out of its project, drag it onto **Your Lists**
in the tree, or use **Move to project → Remove from project** on Home; a
failed drag shows "Could not move the list." A project can be renamed from
its own **⋯** menu → **Rename**. Deleting a project (its own **⋯** menu →
**Delete project**) happens immediately, with no confirmation step — its
lists stay exactly as they are, just unassigned.

## Moving a list to another workspace

There is no move between workspaces. To take a list's data into another
workspace, export it (for example as CSV or Excel) from the list's **⋯**
menu, switch to the other workspace and import the file there as a new
list (1 credit). Delete the original afterwards if you no longer need it.

## FAQ

### How do I rename, duplicate or delete a list?

To rename a list, open it and click its name at the top — it becomes editable; press Enter or the checkmark to save (every workspace member can rename). Owners and admins of the workspace also see Duplicate in the "..." menu on the list's card on Home or in the Lists view's tree, for a free, independent copy including its enrichment data, and Delete list to delete it permanently for everyone. See "[Deleting lists, contacts, and your account](https://listplus.ai/en/help/account/delete-account-and-data)" for the full flow.

### Why can't I duplicate, delete or move a list?

Duplicate, Delete list and Move to project are only shown to owners and admins of the workspace; members can open, edit, enrich and rename lists but not restructure them. Ask an owner or admin to do it, or to make you an admin. See "[Workspace roles and permissions](https://listplus.ai/en/help/workspaces/roles-and-permissions)" for the full overview.

### How do I create a project and add lists to it?

Click "+ New" next to Projects on Home to create one, then type its name. Add a list by dragging its card onto the project's card on Home, dragging it onto the project folder in the Lists view's tree, or by opening the list's "..." menu on Home and choosing Move to project.

### Can a list be in more than one project?

No — a list belongs to at most one project at a time. Moving it into a different project automatically takes it out of the one it was in.

### How do I take a list out of a project without deleting it?

Open the list's "..." menu on Home, go to Move to project, and choose Remove from project — or drag it onto "Your Lists" in the Lists view's tree. The list itself is untouched — it just moves back to your unfiled lists.

### What happens to my lists if I delete a project?

Nothing happens to the lists themselves — deleting a project (from its own "..." menu → Delete project) happens immediately, with no confirmation, and only removes the folder. Its lists stay exactly as they were, just no longer assigned to a project.
