The ListPlus add-in for Outlook

The ListPlus add-in for Outlook is a sidebar that shows who a sender, recipient or meeting attendee is — their LinkedIn profile, company and contact details — without leaving your inbox, and lets you enrich or save that contact. It's a separate product from the Inbox (Eingang) inside the ListPlus web app; the two don't share data.

Getting it#

Install the add-in from Microsoft AppSource (search for ListPlus) into Outlook for Windows, Mac or the web. Some Microsoft 365 organizations let you install add-ins yourself; others require an administrator to approve it first — follow your organization's policy. The add-in is free to install and works on the Basic plan.

Signing in#

Click Enrich Contacts (reading a message), Enrich Recipients (writing one) or Enrich Attendees (a calendar event) in the ListPlus group of the Outlook ribbon, then sign in with the same email-address-and-one-time-code sign-in as the ListPlus web app (create an account first if you don't have one). The add-in works in the workspace you last used in the ListPlus web app; to change it, switch workspaces in the web app. It shows and spends that workspace's credits, which belong to the workspace owner.

What it shows and where#

  • Reading a message — the sender and other recipients.
  • Composing a message — the people you're addressing.
  • A calendar event — the organizer and attendees.

Opening the sidebar doesn't run any paid lookup on its own. It lists the people in the header (sender, To, Cc or attendees). For messages it also scans the message text for further email addresses and shows them under "From thread". Only email addresses are taken from the text, and nothing is looked up until you choose an action.

Enriching a contact#

Pick a contact and choose an action under Enrich: Company Lookup (0.25 credits), Find LinkedIn Profile / LinkedIn Profile (0.5), Contact Profile Lite (2, email and phone from LinkedIn or name + company), Contact Profile Waterfall (4, name, job title, phone and LinkedIn from the email) or Crunchbase (1). Each action shows its credit cost before you run it, uses the same managed enrichment providers and credit rates as the rest of ListPlus (see "How credits work" and the price list), and is only charged when it finds something. Running out of credits stops paid lookups; see "Not enough credits".

Where the results go#

Every enrichment saves to an auto-created Outlook Contacts list in that workspace (one per workspace, shared with its members), updating the same contact if you look them up again. Use Add to List to also copy a contact into another list of the workspace. From there, the contact behaves like any other row: checks, further enrichment, CRM sync and export all happen in the ListPlus web app, not inside Outlook.

FAQ#

Where do I get the ListPlus add-in for Outlook?#

Install it from Microsoft AppSource — search for ListPlus there. It's free to install and works with any Outlook that supports AppSource add-ins (Windows, Mac, web), so no separate download is needed.

Does my Microsoft 365 admin need to approve the add-in?#

It depends on your organization's Microsoft 365 settings: some let you install add-ins yourself, others require administrator approval first. If installing is blocked for you, ask your admin to approve or install ListPlus from AppSource.

How do I sign in to the add-in?#

Open the add-in sidebar from a message or calendar event and sign in the same way as the ListPlus web app: your email address and a one-time code, no password. You need a ListPlus account first (sign-up is free); the add-in then works in the workspace you last used in the web app.

What does the add-in show me about a sender or attendee?#

Opening a message shows the sender and other recipients; composing shows who you're addressing; a calendar event shows the organizer and attendees. It doesn't look anyone up automatically — you pick a contact and choose company lookup, LinkedIn profile or a full contact profile.

Does the add-in read my emails?#

It reads the message only to find email addresses: the sender and recipients from the header, plus any further addresses in the message text, which it shows under "From thread". It doesn't save or forward the text itself. Nothing is looked up until you pick a contact and an action.

Which workspace and whose credits does the Outlook add-in use?#

The add-in works in the workspace you last used in the ListPlus web app, saves to that workspace's Outlook Contacts list and spends that workspace's credits, which belong to its owner. To work in another workspace, switch to it in the web app first.

What does enriching a contact in Outlook cost?#

Company Lookup is 0.25 credits, Find LinkedIn Profile is 0.5, Contact Profile Lite is 2 (email and phone from LinkedIn or name + company), Contact Profile Waterfall is 4 (name, job title, phone and LinkedIn from the email), and Crunchbase is 1 — each shown before you run it and only charged when something is found. Where do enriched contacts end up?#

Every enrichment saves to an "Outlook Contacts" list created automatically in the workspace you last used in the web app, updating the same row if you look up that person again. Each workspace has its own Outlook Contacts list, shared with its members; use Add to List in the sidebar to also copy a contact into another list.

Can I sync contacts from Outlook straight to my CRM?#

Not from inside the add-in itself. Continue with the contact in the Outlook Contacts list (or a list you added it to) in the ListPlus web app, and send it with a pipeline or the export you've set up there. From the sidebar you can also Send a contact to your own webhook (Power Automate, Zapier, Make; set the URL in Settings).

Is the Outlook add-in the same as the ListPlus Inbox?#

No — they're separate. The Outlook add-in enriches senders, recipients and attendees right inside Outlook; the Inbox (Eingang) in the ListPlus web app is a place to paste text, receive it from tools, or forward emails to a personal address and turn it into contacts. See "The Inbox" for that feature.
