Sales signals for small teams: job changes, hiring bursts, funding rounds, and what each costs per account per month

What each signal is good for, when weekly or daily checks make sense, and what ListPlus charges per contact or company.

A job change or funding announcement can be a reason to revisit an account. The useful question is whether the signal arrived in time, concerns a company you actually follow and gives you something relevant to say. ListPlus lets you watch named people and companies without buying an intent-platform seat.

Below are the four available alerts, their limits and their published prices as of October 2026. The alert dialog shows the monthly total for the people and companies you select.

A signal is a reason to write, not a lead

A job change does not mean someone wants to buy, and a funding round is not an open RFP. Check the context before writing: the person's new role, the company's plans and whether you can offer anything relevant. An alert is a prompt to research, not a qualified lead.

The four signals a small team can afford

  • Job change, on a person: new company, new role, or left the company.
  • New LinkedIn posts, on a person: recent topics and activity. At most three posts are reported per check.
  • Hiring burst, on a company: new job postings on LinkedIn, plus "Hiring a lot" when a company posted 10 or more new jobs within 30 days.
  • Funding round, on a company: the round, the reported amount and the date.

In ListPlus all four live on the Watchlist, which keeps people and companies apart. A company is on it once, by its domain, up to 5,000 per workspace, and putting it there costs nothing: "Add from a list" takes every company of a list in one go. You pay only for the alert you set.

Weekly or daily, and what that changes in price

Start with weekly checks unless the timing of a post or funding announcement changes what your team will do. The dialog shows the monthly price for daily checks before you switch.

Alerts are charged per contact or company and month, the first month when you set the alert and then monthly until you stop. One credit is $0.035 on Pro and Premium, $0.06 on Basic. A weekly job-change alert on one person is $0.07 a month; daily, $0.49.

Price per alert, before you add your accounts

Alerts are priced per person or company. These are the published monthly credit rates for each active alert:

  • Job change for one person: 2 credits weekly or 14 daily.
  • New LinkedIn posts for one person: 1 credit weekly or 7 daily.
  • New job postings for one company: 0.05 credits weekly or 0.2 daily.
  • Funding rounds for one company: 0.25 credits at either frequency.

The alert limits count contacts, not companies: 100 on Basic, 1,000 on Pro, 5,000 on Premium. The dialog calculates the total from your Watchlist before you confirm. A company without a LinkedIn page is not checked for postings and is not charged for that alert.

What a false signal looks like, and how a tool should hold it back

An advisory role added to a profile is not necessarily a job change. ListPlus reports a change only when it is sufficiently sure. Doubtful ones appear as "Held back – not certain enough" with the reason (a new company without a LinkedIn page, a side role such as board or advisor, self-employed, overlapping dates, very few connections, no title); you apply them with "Take it over anyway" or leave them. "Left the company" is reported only after two empty checks in a row. For companies, the first check only records where a company stands, so existing postings are not news, and "Hiring a lot" comes at most once in 30 days; rounds from before you set the alert are not reported. How often a held-back change turns out to be real depends on the profiles you watch; we do not publish a rate.

Acting on it: news to Slack, the CRM, or the people you know there

A signal nobody sees is a wasted credit. In the alert dialog, "Send news to" picks a pipeline: the person or company goes into it with the news, as a Slack card with the new company and title, or into your CRM. Companies have a second field, "Send its contacts to": when the company has news, its contacts on your Watchlist go into a pipeline of their own, say a sequence. Deliveries cost per record: Slack 1 credit, HubSpot, Salesforce or Attio 2, your own webhook 0.25; a failed delivery costs nothing.

Where an intent platform still wins

Website visitor identification, third-party intent (who is reading reviews in your category this week) and signals on accounts you have not named yet. Those need a platform such as RB2B, Warmly, Common Room, ZoomInfo or Cognism, at their prices. What a small team can do cheaply is watch the accounts it has already named.

Checklist: Watchlist, alerts, pipeline

  1. Companies → "Add from a list": each company lands once, by domain.
  2. Save the champions as people and set "Job change", weekly. "New LinkedIn posts" only for the handful you really follow.
  3. On the companies, "New job postings" weekly and "Funding rounds". The dialog shows the sum per month before you confirm.
  4. Pick a pipeline under "Send news to" and, for companies, under "Send its contacts to".
  5. Open News once a week and stop the alerts on accounts you have written off; a stopped alert does not renew.
