Exporting to HubSpot and Google Sheets

You can push a list straight to HubSpot or Google Sheets without downloading a file first, using the same export wizard described in "Exporting your list" — pick HubSpot or Google Sheets as the destination instead of a file format.

Connecting your account#

Open the list, click Export in the list header, and choose HubSpot or Google Sheets as the destination.

  • HubSpot: if no account is connected yet you'll see Connect HubSpot; click it, authorize ListPlus in the popup, and the account appears in the wizard. You can connect more than one account and switch between them, or click Connect another account.
  • Google Sheets: the same pattern with Connect Google Account, then pick the account from the Google Account dropdown.

Connected accounts belong to your workspace, so an account a colleague connected is already in the list and can be used by everyone (see "What access you grant when connecting a CRM or app"). To hand over new contacts one by one as you find them, instead of exporting a whole list, use a pipeline (see "Pipelines to Slack, CRMs, sequencers, Sheets and webhooks").

Exporting to HubSpot#

Export mode#

Choose one of three modes under Export Mode:

  • Contacts Only — creates or updates contacts in HubSpot CRM without touching any list.
  • New Static List — creates a new HubSpot static list (name it under List Name) and adds the contacts to it.
  • Existing Static List — pick a list from Select List, which shows each list's name and current size.

Create vs. update, matched by email#

HubSpot contacts are matched by email address: a contact with a matching email is updated, a new email creates a new contact. The email is read from your column named email; rows without one are not sent to HubSpot at all and count toward "failed" in the result summary — there's no way to push a row without one.

Field mapping#

Under Field Mapping, every column in your list (except internal system columns) gets a dropdown to pick the HubSpot contact property it should fill in; ListPlus suggests a mapping automatically based on the column's detected type or its name, grouped by HubSpot's own property groups (e.g. "Contact information"), and you can change or clear any of them before exporting. Columns left unmapped are skipped.

If a standard HubSpot contact field (such as first or last name, job title, company, phone, city, country, website or LinkedIn URL) would otherwise be empty, and Enrich already found a value for that row, HubSpot receives the enrichment value, even if it was never filled into a cell or mapped to a column.

ListPlus also adds one of its own contact properties behind the scenes so it can recognize a contact it already pushed on a future export — you don't need to map or fill it in.

Result summary#

After clicking Push to HubSpot, you get a message such as "12 contacts created, 5 updated, 1 failed", followed in New/Existing Static List mode by "— 8 contacts added to list "Q3 Leads"".

Exporting to Google Sheets#

Choose one of three methods under Export Method:

  • Create new spreadsheet — creates a brand-new Google Sheet; name it under Spreadsheet Name and its first tab under Worksheet Name (default "Sheet1").
  • Add to existing spreadsheet — pick a spreadsheet under Select Spreadsheet and name a New Worksheet Name; this adds your data as a new tab inside that spreadsheet, it does not append rows to an existing tab.
  • Replace existing data — pick a spreadsheet under Select Spreadsheet; the content of its worksheet named "Sheet1" is cleared and replaced with your export.

Three switches, all on by default, control the output: Include column headers writes your column names as the first row; in a new spreadsheet, Freeze header row keeps that row visible while scrolling and Auto-resize columns fits column widths to the content.

The default spreadsheet name is "<list name> - Export <today's date>"; change it before exporting if you want something else.

Google Sheets does not fill empty cells from enrichment results the way HubSpot does — it sends only what's saved in the cells, matching every other file-download destination.

After the export finishes, the spreadsheet opens in a new browser tab.

Which rows and columns are sent#

Every row in the list is sent, including ignored ones, unless you start the export from Export Selected Records or Export Visible Records (see "Exporting your list"). For Google Sheets you also choose the columns in the wizard's column step; HubSpot skips that step and uses the Field Mapping instead.

FAQ#

How do I push my list to HubSpot?#

Click Export in the list header, choose HubSpot as the destination, connect your account if you haven't already, pick an export mode (Contacts Only, New Static List or Existing Static List), review the field mapping, and click Push to HubSpot.

Does exporting to HubSpot create new contacts or update existing ones?#

Both, matched by email address: a contact whose email already exists in HubSpot gets updated, and a new email creates a new contact. There's no separate create-only or update-only mode.

What happens to rows without an email address when exporting to HubSpot?#

The email is read from your column named email; rows without one are not sent and count as "failed" in the result message — HubSpot requires an email to match or create a contact, so those rows are skipped.

Can I control which HubSpot field each column maps to?#

Yes. The Field Mapping section lists every column with a dropdown of HubSpot contact properties; ListPlus suggests a mapping automatically, and you can change or clear any mapping. Unmapped columns are skipped.

Will HubSpot get data I looked up with Enrich but haven't filled into the cells?#

Yes. For standard contact fields such as name, job title, company, phone, location, website and LinkedIn URL, HubSpot receives the value Enrich found for that row whenever the field would otherwise be empty, even if the value was never filled into the cells. Other columns are sent only if you map them.

How do I know the HubSpot push worked?#

After the push, ListPlus shows a message like "12 contacts created, 5 updated, 1 failed", followed by the list name and how many contacts were added when you used New or Existing Static List mode.

How do I export to Google Sheets, and what are the three methods?#

Click Export, choose Google Sheets, connect your Google account, then pick Create new spreadsheet, Add to existing spreadsheet (adds your data as a new worksheet tab) or Replace existing data (clears and overwrites the "Sheet1" worksheet of the spreadsheet you pick).

Does the Google Sheets export write column headers?#
