Getting AI Research hits into a list automatically
Instead of reviewing matches yourself and adding them by hand, AI Research can hand qualifying hits over to a list on its own, as they're found — for a ListPlus-run research or for one your own AI reports into.
Turning it on#
Next to the brief, the Results option (shown as a pill once you start typing, or a status line above the matches once a run exists) lets you choose where hits go: stay here (the default — you review and add them by hand later), add to a list automatically (pick an existing list) or add to a new list automatically, named after your brief. Change the choice on a run already in progress, or after it finishes, at any time.
Only the fit matters, and duplicates stay out#
Every hit is rated with a fit score from 0 to 100 and a one-line reason, judging how well it matches your brief on role, company, place and signal. With automatic hand-off on, you can also set Only from fit 50 / 70 / 85 so only hits that clear that bar go to the list; leave it on all to hand over every hit regardless of score. What counts as a record needs at least a name plus a company, a domain or a LinkedIn URL — duplicates, and hits missing that much, stay out of the list and keep waiting in the research instead.
The stop target counts what actually landed#
With a target list chosen, Stop at switches from counting matches to counting new records actually added to that list — hits that don't clear the fit bar, or turn out to be duplicates, don't count toward it. Without a target list, a run holds at most 200 matches in total; with one, the ceiling rises to 1,000, since the list itself absorbs and dedupes everything instead of the run's own memory.
The research no longer expires#
A research with automatic hand-off to a list switched on no longer has a 7-day expiry — it becomes a standing research, since the list is now the permanent home for what it finds. Turning hand-off back to "stay here" doesn't bring the expiry back for a run that already went standing.

FAQ#
How do I get AI Research hits into a list without adding them by hand?#
Open the Results option next to the brief (or, on a run in progress, the status line above the matches) and choose an existing list or a new one. From then on, every qualifying hit is added to that list automatically as it's found.
What is a fit score, and how do I use it to filter hand-offs?#
Every hit gets a fit score from 0 to 100 with a one-line reason, rating how well it matches your brief. With automatic hand-off on, set Only from fit 50, 70 or 85 to only send hits that clear that score to the list, or leave it on all to send every hit.
Can duplicates end up in my list from AI Research?#
No — a hit needs at least a name plus a company, a domain or a LinkedIn URL to count as a record, and duplicates of what's already in the list are kept out automatically. Anything that doesn't qualify stays in the research instead of going to the list.
Does "Stop at" count the same way with a target list chosen?#
No — with a target list, the stop number counts new records actually added to that list, not every hit the agent finds; a hit that fails the fit bar or turns out to be a duplicate doesn't count toward it. Without a target list, it counts the hits themselves.
Does turning on automatic hand-off change how many matches a run can hold?#
Yes — a run without a target list holds at most 200 matches in total, while one with automatic hand-off on can go up to 1,000, since the list absorbs and dedupes the hits instead of the run's own memory.
Does a research with automatic hand-off still expire after 7 days?#
No — once automatic hand-off to a list is on, the research becomes standing and no longer expires, since the list is its permanent record. A run you never turned hand-off on for still expires after 7 days as usual.
Can I turn automatic hand-off on for a research that's already running?#
Yes — change the Results choice on a run in progress, or even after it finishes, at any time; it takes effect for new hits from that point on and doesn't retroactively re-file matches found earlier under a different setting.
Can I still add matches to a list by hand if I don't turn hand-off on?#
Yes — the default, "stay here," leaves every hit in the research for you to tick and click Add to list yourself, exactly as before; automatic hand-off is optional.
