Hand over from the Chrome extension to ListPlus

Updated Markdown

A hand-over writes entries from the extension's saved list into one of your ListPlus lists, optionally enriched, or sends them to an endpoint of your own. Until then nothing of your saved list reaches ListPlus.

Hand entries over to a ListPlus list#

  1. In your saved list, click Select and tick the entries you want.
  2. Click To listplus in the footer. (With your own endpoint set up, the button is called Hand over and opens a menu: choose To ListPlus ….) In a folder, Hand all over takes all its entries.
  3. The dialog Hand over to listplus shows a short preview. Pick the target list, tick the options you want and click Hand over entry (or Hand over n entries).

You need to be logged in to ListPlus in the same Chrome profile; the Basic plan is enough. Otherwise the dialog shows Log in to hand over.

Which list gets what#

A list holds one kind of record (see "Contact list or company list — the kind of a list"): people go to a contact list, companies to a company list. With both in your selection the dialog shows two pickers, Target list · people and Target list · companies, each offering only lists of that kind and starting with the one you used last. Links stay in your saved list; the dialog says how many.

Create a new list right there#

Choose New list at the bottom of the picker, type a name and click Create. If you have no list of that kind yet, the name field is shown straight away. A new contact list gets the columns First Name, Last Name, Job Title, Company, Email, Phone, LinkedIn, Location and Notes. A new company list gets Company, Website, Industry, Employees, Phone, Email, Street, Postcode, City, Country, LinkedIn and Notes.

Hand over notes too (off by default) writes your notes into the list's Notes column.

Enrichment on the way in#

Enrich in listplus is off by default. Ticked, the new rows are completed in ListPlus after they arrive:

  • People with a LinkedIn profile: ListPlus fetches the profile data.
  • People found on a website: ListPlus looks for their LinkedIn profile by name and company, then fetches it. Without a company there is nothing to look up from.
  • Companies with a LinkedIn page: ListPlus fetches the company data.
  • Companies found on a website: ListPlus first looks up the company's website, then the company data from it.

Enrichment is charged per hit; the dialog shows the price next to the option before you confirm. The numbers are in "Price list: what every action costs". It runs in ListPlus, so you can close the extension. Only newly added rows are enriched.

The result says Enrichment runs — see it in the list. or why it did not start. The hand-over itself happens either way:

  • Not enriched: not enough credits. Top up, then enrich the rows from the list (see "Enrich selected rows: plan, steps and the "at most"").
  • Not enriched: nothing to enrich from. No new row had anything to look up from, for example a web person without a company, or every entry was already in the list.
  • Not enriched: enrichment is not available right now. Try again later from the list.

Duplicates are merged#

A hand-over never adds the same person or company twice. If a record is already in the list, the hand-over fills its empty cells instead of adding a row. The result shows both numbers, for example "12 added to “LinkedIn contacts” · 3 already there". Each entry in your saved list then shows Handed over to with the list's name; a click opens the list.

After the hand-over#

The rows are normal rows of the list; see "Enrich in a rule — fill a record's own missing fields", "Tidying up a list step by step", "Email drafts in your own mailbox", "Pipelines — send records on to your CRM, Slack, e-mail or API" and "Triggers — hand records on automatically".

Open a saved person or company in ListPlus#

Open in ListPlus on the page card (or Open profile in ListPlus when you hover over a row of your saved list) opens the full profile in the ListPlus app, with every enrichment. Links and people found on a website have none.

Your own endpoint#

You can also send entries to an address of your own, such as an n8n, Make or Zapier webhook or your server (see "Zapier, Make and n8n via webhook"). This works without a ListPlus account.

  1. Open Detections & settings (the arrow button in the footer) and, under Settings, open Connect your own endpoint.
  2. Enter the Endpoint address. Use https; a plain http address works, but the extension warns that the data is sent unencrypted.
  3. Optionally add an Authentication header (optional): a name such as Authorization and its value. The value stays in this browser.
  4. Click Send test to post a made-up sample entry, or Save. Chrome asks once for permission to reach that address. Remove deletes the settings.

With an endpoint saved, the hand-over button becomes a menu with To ListPlus … and Send to personal endpoint. The second one sends the selection in one click, with your notes, and shows the endpoint's answer for a few seconds. Links are sent too. Entries sent this way show your endpoint's host under Handed over to.

For advanced users#

Every send is one JSON POST (no cookies, 20-second timeout; any 2xx answer counts as delivered). Empty fields are left out. A send of one entry looks like this (Send test adds "test": true):

{
  "event": "listplus.entries",
  "source": "listplus-chrome-extension",
  "version": "1.0.0",
  "sentAt": "2026-10-19T09:30:00.000Z",
  "count": 1,
  "entries": [
    {
      "kind": "person",
      "name": "Jane Doe",
      "url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe-example",
      "linkedinUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe-example",
      "headline": "VP Sales",
      "company": "Example Inc",
      "location": "San Francisco, CA",
      "note": "Met at SaaStr",
      "savedAt": "2026-10-18T14:30:00.000Z",
      "savedBy": "manual"
    }
  ]
}

kind is person, company or page; savedBy is manual or auto. Further optional fields: detail, email, phone, website, street, zip, city, country, folder, sentTo.

FAQ#

What does a hand-over to ListPlus cost?#

A plain hand-over costs no credits. Only the optional Enrich in listplus costs credits, charged per hit, and the dialog shows the price before you confirm. A miss is not charged.

Why did my enrichment not start?#

The result of the hand-over names the reason: not enough credits, nothing to enrich from (also when every entry was already in the list), or enrichment not available right now. The rows are in your list either way. Fix the reason and enrich them from the list.

Does a hand-over add duplicates?#

No. A person or company already in the list is merged into its row (empty cells are filled), and the result shows how many were already there. Merged rows are not enriched again.

Which list do companies go to?#

Companies go to a company list, people to a contact list. If you hand over both at once, the dialog shows two pickers, and you can create a new list of the right kind with New list.

Links (pages saved as a plain link) are not people or companies, so they stay in your saved list. The dialog tells you how many stayed. Export them as CSV or Excel if you need them elsewhere.

Do I need to be signed in to hand over?#

Yes, for a hand-over to ListPlus you must be logged in to ListPlus in the same Chrome profile. Otherwise the dialog shows Log in to hand over with Open listplus. Saving, export and sending to your own endpoint work without an account.

Are my notes sent to ListPlus?#

Only if you tick Hand over notes too, which is off by default. The notes then fill the list's Notes column.

Can I send entries straight to HubSpot or another CRM?#

Not directly from the extension. Hand the entries over to a ListPlus list, then send them on with a list pipeline to your CRM (HubSpot needs the Premium plan). Alternatively, send them to your own endpoint and let n8n, Make or Zapier pass them on.

Can I use Zapier, n8n or Make?#

Yes, and without a ListPlus account: in Detections & settings, open Connect your own endpoint, paste your webhook URL, click Send test and Save. After that, Send to personal endpoint in the hand-over menu posts your selection in one click.

What data is sent to my own endpoint?#

One JSON POST per send with each entry's type, name, page and LinkedIn address, headline, company, location, contact details, folder and save date. Notes are included, and saved links are sent too.

What does Open in ListPlus do?#

It opens the person's or company's full profile in the ListPlus app, with every enrichment, where you can enrich field by field and take over values. You need to be logged in to ListPlus. Links and people found on a website have none; a company found on a website opens by its website.

Can I see which list an entry went to?#

Yes. Each entry shows Handed over to with the list's name (the date in the tooltip), and a click opens the list. Entries sent to your own endpoint show the endpoint's host name.
