Fix and Fix all — correcting issues automatically

Updated Markdown

Many of the issues the Analyze panel finds can be corrected automatically instead of by hand. These live under the Quick fixes category, alongside the other check categories (Send readiness, Data quality, Duplicates, Completeness and so on).

Where to find Quick fixes#

Open Analyze in the list header, then switch to the Quick fixes category. Click Fix next to a check to correct every row it affects. To run them all at once, click Open as dialog in the Analyze panel header; Fix all then appears at the top of Quick fixes and runs the checks one after another, with a progress count. Fix all skips normalization checks (for example gender, address or inconsistent spellings) — their Fix opens a review window where you approve the proposed values, so run those one at a time.

What gets fixed#

Quick fixes only cover checks that have an automatic correction — most issues that need judgment (a wrong company name, an implausible job title) still need a manual edit or enrichment, not a Fix button. What Quick fixes does cover:

  • Formatting corrections — trimming extra spaces, fixing capitalization, removing emoji or invisible characters, stripping title prefixes like "Dr." from a name field, and similar text cleanup in names, companies and job titles.
  • Typo and format corrections — for example fixing common email typos or misplaced dots.
  • Empty Row — rows with no data in any column are hidden (you can restore them from Hidden rows).
  • Duplicate merges — see "Finding and merging duplicates" for exactly what a duplicate Fix does; Fix all also runs the duplicate merges, so if you want to review duplicate groups first, fix the duplicate checks one at a time instead of using Fix all.
  • Normalizing values — unifying different spellings of the same value (gender, address fields, inconsistent values) after you review them.

Not every check has a Fix button — checks that flag something for you to judge (like "Similar Name + Company") show no Fix, only a count of affected rows to select and review.

Saved or unsaved#

Formatting and typo fixes, and any field values a duplicate merge copies onto the surviving row, are ordinary grid edits: they show as unsaved changes until you click Save in the list header, the same as typing into a cell yourself. The exception is hiding rows (empty rows, and the extra rows of a duplicate merge), which saves automatically in the background — see "Finding and merging duplicates" for that detail.

Undoing a fix#

Before you save, open the Changes panel and use All → Revert to discard every unsaved change, including fixes. After you've saved, a text fix has no built-in undo — edit the cell back by hand if needed. Rows hidden by the Empty Row fix, and rows hidden by a duplicate merge, can be brought back from the Hidden rows entry in the Sublists panel (or Show Ignored Rows from Commands ⌘K) — select them and click Restore.

Cost#

Quick fixes are free — no credits are charged for any correction in this category.

FAQ#

How do I fix issues quickly?#

Open Analyze in the list header, switch to the Quick fixes category, and click Fix next to any check that offers one — it corrects every affected row for free. Click Fix all at the top to run every available Quick fix at once.

What does Fix all actually change?#

Click Open as dialog in the Analyze panel header to reveal Fix all, which runs every eligible check in Quick fixes one after another: formatting cleanup (spacing, capitalization, emoji, prefixes), common typo fixes, hiding empty rows, and merging duplicates. It skips checks that need manual review, including normalization checks and checks with no Fix button at all.

Does Fix all merge my duplicates too?#

Yes — Fix all also runs the duplicate-merge checks, hiding the extra rows in each matching group. If you want to review duplicate groups before merging, fix the duplicate checks one at a time instead of using Fix all; see "Finding and merging duplicates" for how a merge decides which row survives.

Do I need to click Save after using Fix or Fix all?#

Yes, for most fixes — formatting and typo corrections show as unsaved changes in the grid until you click Save, just like a manual edit. The exception is hiding rows (empty rows, and the extra rows of a duplicate merge), which saves automatically in the background.

Can I undo a fix?#

Before saving, open the Changes panel and click All → Revert to discard every unsaved fix. After saving, a text correction has no built-in undo — edit the cell back manually; rows hidden by the Empty Row fix or a duplicate merge can be brought back from Hidden rows in the Sublists panel.

Does Fix or Fix all cost credits?#

No, Quick fixes are free on every plan.

Why doesn't a check I see have a Fix button?#

Some issues need human judgment rather than a rule-based correction — for example, near-duplicate names that might be two different people. Those checks show only an affected-row count so you can select and review them yourself, with no automatic Fix.
