Is my list ready for cold email, CRM, or cold calling?

Updated Markdown

An evaluation rates every row in your list against a specific goal — cold email, CRM import, or cold calling — instead of a generic quality score. Each row gets one of three verdicts: Ready, Enrichable, or Unusable, and you can fix the gaps with one click, and you see the maximum cost before anything runs.

Choose an evaluation#

In a list, click the Find & evaluate field in the header. With nothing typed, the dropdown shows "Choose evaluation" with a short list of evaluations, each with a small bar showing how much of your list is currently ready. Click one to activate it (or "No evaluation" to turn it off again). Three are built in and always available:

  • Cold Email
  • CRM Quality
  • Cold Calling

Click "Edit evaluations" to open the full management dialog. There, click More evaluations … and Add to bring in three more (LinkedIn / Social, Multichannel Sequence, Deliverability). To make your own, click New evaluation, or use Duplicate on an existing one, then adjust which fields matter and how strict each rule is. Standard evaluations are read-only; edit one and click Save as new evaluation to keep your version.

Once an evaluation is active, a cockpit bar appears under the header, with count buttons such as All, 42 ready, 17 enrichable, 5 unusable, and stays visible while you work the list.

What each evaluation checks#

Only fields marked Essential decide a row's verdict (Important and Nice-to-have fields are shown too, but don't block Ready).

EvaluationEssential fields
Cold EmailEmail (personal/free-mail and role-based addresses like info@ don't count), Name, Company
CRM QualityName, Email (role-based addresses don't count; personal email is fine), Company
Cold CallingName, Phone (must include a country code), Company

An essential field must be both present and valid — passing the same checks the Analyze panel already runs (see "quality-checks-overview"). For example, under Cold Email a row with info@acme.com in the email column is not Ready, because a role-based address fails that evaluation's rule, even though the cell is filled.

Ready, Enrichable, Unusable#

  • Ready — every essential field is present and valid. Nothing to do.
  • Enrichable — one or more essential fields are missing or invalid, and ListPlus can fill every one of them by enrichment from what the row already has (for example, no email yet, but there's a name and company or a LinkedIn URL to look it up from).
  • Unusable — at least one essential field is missing or invalid and there's no way to reach it: no usable starting point on the row (no LinkedIn URL, no email, no name + company), or the missing field simply has no enrichment route.

Click a count (ready, enrichable or unusable) in the cockpit bar to filter the grid to those rows. Click All to show every row again. The × at the end of the cockpit bar ("Close evaluation") turns the evaluation off.

Fix the gaps at a known worst-case cost#

Click Enrich in the cockpit bar (it shows the number of enrichable rows it will act on) to open the enrichment dialog. It groups the enrichable rows into gap patterns — rows missing the same fields from the same starting data — and shows, for each pattern, the route it will take and shows the cost as at most N Cr (sometimes with an expected ≈ figure) before you start. Uncheck any pattern you don't want to run, then click Start enrichment. Most steps charge only when they find something, so the real total is usually lower than the number shown. Some steps also charge without a hit: LinkedIn Profile Search charges 1 credit per attempt, and a LinkedIn profile lookup charges when the profile is found, even without an email. See "Find a verified email address" for the charge rule of each step. If you have rows selected in the grid, Enrich acts only on the selected enrichable rows.

Rows with no usable starting point at all are listed separately and are never charged.

Is choosing an evaluation free?#

Yes. Activating, switching, or turning off an evaluation doesn't call any paid provider or use credits — it re-reads the same free checks the Analyze panel already computed. Only the enrichment you run afterward from the Enrich button costs credits.

Does my choice follow me to another device?#

No. Which evaluation is currently active is remembered per browser (on this device), not synced to your account — open the list on another device or browser and you'll need to pick it again. The active evaluation also stays selected when you open another list in this browser. Evaluations you create or customize yourself, and template evaluations you've added, however, do sync to your account and are available wherever you sign in.

FAQ#

What is an evaluation in ListPlus?#

An evaluation rates every row against a specific goal — like Cold Email, CRM Quality, or Cold Calling — as Ready, Enrichable, or Unusable, instead of a generic quality score. Pick one from the "Find & evaluate" field in the header.

How do I check if my list is ready for cold email?#

Open the "Find & evaluate" field in the header, choose the "Cold Email" evaluation, and a cockpit bar appears showing how many rows are Ready, Enrichable, or Unusable for that goal.

What does "Ready" mean?#

The row has every field that evaluation requires (its "essential" fields) both present and valid — for example, under Cold Email, a real company-domain email, a name, and a company, none of them flagged by the underlying checks.

What does "Enrichable" mean?#

One or more required fields are missing or invalid, and ListPlus can fill all of them from what the row already has — for example the email is missing, but there's enough (a LinkedIn URL, or a name and company) to look it up.

What does "Unusable" mean?#

At least one required field is missing or invalid and there's no way to fill it: no starting point on the row for enrichment to work from, or that type of field simply has no enrichment route.

How do I fill in the missing fields for the enrichable rows?#

Click Enrich in the cockpit bar. It groups the enrichable rows by the pattern of what's missing and shows the route and cost for each group as "at most N Cr," so you know the maximum before anything runs; most steps charge only on a hit.

Does choosing or switching an evaluation cost credits?#

No — activating or switching an evaluation is free; it reuses the same free checks the Analyze panel already ran. Only running an enrichment from the Enrich button costs credits.

Which evaluations are available by default?#

Cold Email, CRM Quality, and Cold Calling are built in. Three more (LinkedIn / Social, Multichannel Sequence, Deliverability) can be added from "Edit evaluations" → "More evaluations …" → Add.

Can I create my own evaluation?#

Yes — open "Edit evaluations," click New evaluation or Duplicate an existing one, and adjust which fields are essential, important, or nice-to-have and how strict rules like blocking role-based emails or requiring a phone country code are. Standard evaluations are read-only; edit one and click Save as new evaluation to keep your version.

Does my chosen evaluation carry over if I open the list on my phone or another computer?#

No — which evaluation is currently active is remembered only on the device/browser you picked it on (though it stays selected across lists in that same browser). Evaluations you create yourself, and templates you've added, do sync to your account, but you'll need to reselect one as active on each device.
