First steps by goal: "I want to…"
Pick the sentence below that matches what you're trying to do. Each one gives you the first few clicks, what it costs, and which help topic to read next for the full picture. If none of these fit, "Which finder do I use?" compares Person Search, Segment Search and AI Research side by side, and "Navigation and glossary" explains every place in the app.
I want to clean up or check a list I already have#
Import the file on the New List page — drop it or click Select File (CSV, Excel or JSON) — then open the list and click Analyze in the list header. Every check card that offers a Fix or Fix all button corrects that issue for free; click Save afterwards to keep the result. Importing costs 1 credit, and checks and fixes are free too — and the optional Include AI Analysis setting (off by default) is marked in the app as using credits. Next: Quality checks overview.
I want to find missing emails or phone numbers for my list#
With the list open (select specific rows first if you only want those), click Enrich in the list header, open the Find Missing Email or Phone group, and pick Find Email (by Name & Company) or, for a phone number too, Find Email + Phone (by Name & Company). Finding an email this way runs roughly 2 to 6 credits depending on the provider, only charged when one is actually found; Find Email + Phone costs 30 credits per contact in total and is charged whenever it returns data, even an email alone. Next: Find a verified email (and Find phone and mobile).
I want to find one specific person#
Click Person in the left rail to open Person Search, then type a name and company, an email address or a LinkedIn URL and click Search. For a name, confirm which person you mean (ListPlus asks even for a single match); an email address or LinkedIn URL skips that step. The profile then loads automatically for a small amount of credits. Next: Person Search.
I want to build a list of people by role, industry or company size#
Click Segments in the left rail to open Segment Search, set filters such as job title, seniority, industry, location or company size (or describe your audience in a sentence to build the filters automatically), then click Search Contacts. Each page of up to 25 results costs 2 credits, and revealing a verified email or mobile number for a specific person is a separate, later step. Next: Segment Search (audience database).
I want to find leads with signals no database has#
Click Research in the left rail to open AI Research, describe your target group in a sentence (role, a visible signal, ideally industry or region, best in English), and click Start research. You're billed for the actual work the AI does rather than a fixed price per lead, and you need at least 1 credit in your balance to start. Next: AI Research.
I want to turn notes, signatures or invitations into contacts#
Click Inbox in the left rail, then paste text, attach a PDF, or forward an email to your personal Inbox address for this workspace (under More ways into your inbox → Forward emails; click Create address the first time). Open the entry and click Recognize contacts, review the suggested people, then click Add to list or Save. Every recognition run costs at least 0.5 credits, with longer free text (an email body, a note, a forwarded PDF) adding the AI's actual token cost on top; a short line such as a signature costs just the 0.5 base. Next: Inbox.
I want to send my finished contacts to my CRM, Google Sheet or email tool#
Open the ⋯ menu at the far right of the list header and choose Export Data to go straight to the export wizard and pick a destination — an instant download, or send to an app such as Google Sheets, Lemlist or HubSpot. For a quick file instead, the same ⋯ menu also has Export as Excel, and the wizard is reachable via Commands (⌘K) too. Nothing updates on its own afterwards: file downloads are free, and pushing a later change back to a connected source is something you trigger yourself each time by clicking Sync Now. Next: Export overview (and Sync overview for push-back details).
I want to work on lists together with my team#
Open the workspace switcher in the Home page header (or the workspace row in your avatar menu) and choose Members & invites, then enter your colleagues' email addresses and click Invite. Everyone who joins sees the workspace's lists, Saved contacts, Inbox, AI Research runs and pipelines; members are free and spend the workspace owner's credits, so only the owner needs a plan. Next: What is a workspace (and Invite teammates to a workspace, Credits, plan and limits in a workspace).
I want to give Claude or ChatGPT access to a list#
Click More in the list header (the panel-switcher button) to open the panels list, choose Automation under More tools, then in the Automations panel click + Add and choose Add API Endpoint. Copy the URL and the Copy AI instruction text into Claude, or add the same URL as an MCP connector — a standard several AI apps, including ChatGPT, use to plug into outside tools. This is included on every plan, including Basic; whatever actions the AI takes are billed at the same per-action credit rates as doing them yourself in the app. Next: API connection overview.
I want to enrich contacts from Outlook#
Install the ListPlus add-in from Microsoft AppSource, then open an email and open the add-in's sidebar to see the sender's job title, company details and LinkedIn profile. A cached match is free; a new lookup uses credits from your account and is written into an auto-created "Outlook Contacts" list. Next: Outlook add-in.
