Recipes: common ListPlus workflows
These are short, numbered paths through ListPlus for common goals. Each step names the exact place to click and points to the topic with the full detail — no new facts here, just the order to do things in. If your goal isn't below, start with "First steps by goal" or "Which finder do I use?" instead.
1. Prepare a cold-email campaign#
- Get your contacts in: import a file or build an audience in Segment Search ("Create a list and import a file", "Segment Search: the audience database").
- In the list header click Find & evaluate, choose Cold Email, and use the cockpit bar's ready / enrichable / unusable counts ("Is my list ready for cold email, CRM, or cold calling?").
- Fix format issues (typos, duplicates, invalid emails) — "Fix and Fix all", "Finding and merging duplicates", "Email quality checks and verification".
- Enrich the enrichable rows for a verified email — "Find a verified email address".
- Send the ready rows to your sequencer — "Sending contacts to Lemlist, Instantly and Smartlead".
2. Clean a HubSpot export and push updates back#
- Bring the export in: import the CSV, or connect HubSpot directly (needs Premium) — "Create a list and import a file", "Connecting a CRM, spreadsheet or other app".
- Run the checks and clean up duplicates and format issues — "What the Analyze panel checks and how the quality score works", "Finding and merging duplicates", "Fix and Fix all".
- Fill any gaps you want enriched — "How enrichment works".
- Push the cleaned values back: on a list connected to HubSpot, save and click Sync Now ("Keeping a connected list in sync", "Setting up how changes push back to your source"); on a list imported from a CSV, use Export → HubSpot → Contacts Only, which creates or updates contacts ("Exporting to HubSpot and Google Sheets").
3. Find decision makers at 50 target accounts#
- Open Segment Search and set the Company filter to your target accounts (names or websites) plus a Job title filter for the roles you want (e.g. VP, Director, Head of) — "Segment Search: the audience database", "How Segment Search filters work".
- Click Search Contacts (2 credits per page of up to 25) and review the results table.
- Tick the rows you want (or take the whole page) and click Add To List; repeat on each further page.
4. Turn event or Zoom attendees into leads#
- Import the attendee list as a file, or connect Zoom (works on every plan) to pull a webinar's Registrants or Participants directly — "Create a list and import a file", "Connecting a CRM, spreadsheet or other app".
- Run the checks and remove duplicates — "What the Analyze panel checks and how the quality score works", "Finding and merging duplicates".
- Enrich for company, job title and a verified email — "How enrichment works".
- Export or send the finished list onward — "Exporting your list".
5. Enrich inbound leads from a form#
- Route form submissions in: send them to your Inbox intake address (Inbox → Automatically via API → Set up) via a Zapier/Make/n8n webhook step or any tool that can POST JSON, or simply forward the notification e-mail to your Inbox's own e-mail address — "Zapier, Make and n8n via webhook", "The Inbox".
- In the Inbox, click Recognize contacts (at least 0.5 credits per run), tick the people and click Add to list.
- Run the checks and enrich for the fields you need — "What the Analyze panel checks and how the quality score works", "How enrichment works".
- Continue as with any list: dedupe, export or sync onward — or hand the finished contacts to a pipeline (recipe 7).
6. Watch customers for job changes#
- Import or connect your customer/contact list — "Create a list and import a file", "Connecting a CRM, spreadsheet or other app".
- Run Detect Company Changes (Enrich menu, AI Analysis group; free), or the Detect Job Changes wizard (Enrich menu → ENRICHMENT WIZARDS) for a fresh check: it verifies the email (0.1 credits) and re-fetches the LinkedIn profile (0.5 credits per profile found) — "Detecting job changes".
- There's no automatic or scheduled check — repeat step 2 yourself whenever you want an update. Flagged rows show the old and new company in the record panel under "Signals".
7. Notify your team about new leads#
- Open Pipelines in the left rail and create a pipeline with the target your team reads — for example Notify your team in Slack, or an Email digest to members of your workspace (see "Pipelines — send records on to your CRM, Slack, e-mail or API"). Owners and admins set pipelines up.
- In a list, in Saved or in a contact's detail view, click Add → Send to pipeline and pick the pipeline.
- Open the pipeline and click Send to release the waiting entries — nothing is sent automatically. Pipelines cost no credits.

FAQ#
How do I prepare a cold-email campaign?#
Import or build your list, check it against the Cold Email evaluation, fix format issues and duplicates, enrich the enrichable rows for a verified email, then send the ready rows to your sequencer. See "Is my list ready for cold email, CRM, or cold calling?" and "Sending contacts to Lemlist, Instantly and Smartlead" for the details of each step.
How do I clean a HubSpot export and push updates back?#
Import the export (or connect HubSpot directly — needs Premium), run the checks, remove duplicates and fix issues, enrich any gaps, then push the cleaned values back: Sync Now on a connected list, or Export → HubSpot → Contacts Only on an imported one. See "Connecting a CRM, spreadsheet or other app", "Finding and merging duplicates" and "Exporting to HubSpot and Google Sheets".
How do I find decision makers at a list of target accounts?#
In Segment Search, set the Company filter to your target accounts (names or domains) together with a Job title filter for the roles you want, run the search, and add the matching rows to a list. See "Segment Search: the audience database" and "How Segment Search filters work" for how the Company and Job title filters combine.
How do I turn event or Zoom attendees into leads?#
Import the attendee list as a file, or connect Zoom to pull a webinar's Registrants or Participants directly, then run checks, dedupe and enrich the list like any other. See "Connecting a CRM, spreadsheet or other app" for what Zoom can import and "How enrichment works" for filling in the gaps.
How do I enrich inbound leads from a form?#
Point your form's automation (Zapier, Make, n8n, or any tool that can send a webhook) at your Inbox intake address, or just forward the notification e-mail to your Inbox's own e-mail address, then open each entry and click Recognize contacts (at least 0.5 credits per run) before ticking the people and clicking Add to list. See "Zapier, Make and n8n via webhook" and "The Inbox" for the intake address and recognition step.
How do I watch customers for job changes?#
Import or connect your customer list, then run Detect Company Changes (free) or the paid Detect Job Changes wizard whenever you want to check for a change — this is a step you run yourself, not an automatic or scheduled check. See "Detecting job changes" for what each option does and costs.
How do I notify my team about new leads?#
Set up a pipeline under Pipelines in the left rail with a Slack channel or an Email digest to your workspace members as the target, then add contacts from a list, Saved or the contact view with Add → Send to pipeline. Entries wait in the pipeline until someone clicks Send, and pipelines cost no credits. Only owners and admins of a workspace can create pipelines; every member can add and send entries.
What if my use case isn't one of these recipes?#
Start with "First steps by goal" to find the right topic for what you're trying to do, or "Which finder do I use?" if you're not sure whether Person Search, Segment Search or AI Research fits your situation best.
