The Record panel: best values and sources

Updated Markdown

The Record panel shows everything ListPlus knows about the row you clicked. Under From sources, Best values gives one value per field picked from all sources, and below it each source has its own line.

Best values#

Best values ("from all sources") is open by default and lists up to 17 fields — e-mail, phone, job title, company, domain, location, LinkedIn URLs and more. Each item shows the value and an icon for the source it came from. ListPlus picks the value with one rule that is also used for filling cells (see "When enrichment sources disagree, which value is offered?"). Hover the source icon to see the source, "Retrieved {date}" and, for e-mail and phone, "Checked {date}: {status}". A check older than 90 days is marked as a hint only.

One line per source#

Below Best values, each source has a slim line; open it to see its values in groups:

  • Different from the list — the list cell holds another value.
  • Additional data — fields the list has no value for.
  • Matches the list row — the same value as in the list.
  • Source metadata — technical details of the lookup.

A LinkedIn line holds Experience, Education and Certifications. Source names read "Prospeo · Contact", "CompanyEnrich · Company" and so on; some have their own names: "LinkedIn search (Google)", "AI web research", "AI audience search" and "AI analysis".

Take over, Show column, Remove data#

  • Take over fills an empty cell with the value, or replaces the cell's value when it sits under "Different from the list". Best values have no Take over, only the column button.
  • Show column adds a temporary column with that field. It is read-only, sortable and filterable, not saved, and has a light purple background. From Best values it shows the best value of every row.
  • Remove data: open the "⋯" menu on a source's line, choose Remove data and confirm with Remove.

FAQ#

What is "Best values" in the Record panel?#

Best values, under "From sources", shows one value per field that ListPlus picked from all sources, with an icon for the source. The same rule is used when enrichment fills your cells and for the best-value columns.

How do I see where a value came from and when it was checked?#

Hover the source icon next to a value in Best values. The tooltip names the source and shows "Retrieved {date}"; for e-mail and phone it also shows "Checked {date}: {status}", marked as a hint only when the check is older than 90 days.

What do "Different from the list", "Additional data" and "Matches the list row" mean?#

They sort a source's values against your list row. "Different from the list" means the cell holds another value, "Additional data" is a field the list has no value for, and "Matches the list row" is the same value you already have.

What does "Take over" do in the Record panel?#

It writes that source's value into the list cell: into an empty cell, or over the existing value when the value sits under "Different from the list". It is a deliberate single-field choice, so it can replace a value you typed.

What does "Show column" do?#

It adds a read-only column with that field, sortable and filterable but not saved, with a light purple background. Used on a Best value, it shows the best value of every row.

What are "LinkedIn search (Google)", "AI web research" and "AI analysis"?#

They are source lines for data that did not come from a data provider's contact record. "LinkedIn search (Google)" found a LinkedIn profile, "AI web research" and "AI audience search" come from AI research, and "AI analysis" is the result of an AI analysis you ran.

Where are LinkedIn experience and education?#

On the row's LinkedIn source line in the Record panel, which holds Experience, Education and Certifications.

How do I remove one source's data from a record?#

Open the "⋯" menu on that source's line, choose Remove data and confirm with Remove. Its values are no longer used for best values or filling; values already in your cells stay.
