A tour of the list editor

A list editor screen has a header, a set of panels you open next to the grid, the grid itself, and a status bar at the bottom. This article is the map; see the linked topics for how each part actually works.

The header holds the list title, the Find & evaluate search field, a Reload button (only on lists imported from an online source), Save, the panel buttons, Export, and a ⋯ menu with more export options, Add Column and List Settings. The panels#

Nine panels are available from the panel picker in the header. Analyze, Record and Enrich each have their own quick icon; the rest open through More, grouped as Essentials (Analyze, Record, Enrich) and More tools (Sublists, Changes, Columns, Prompts, Automation, Dashboard):

  • Analyze — runs data-quality checks and lets you select or filter rows from the results.
  • Record — shows every field and stored enrichment result for the row you've clicked, including values not yet filled into a cell. If the row was sent to a pipeline, an In pipelines section at the bottom shows its state there (see "Seeing which pipelines a record went through").
  • Enrich — starts lookups for missing data, for one row or the whole list.
  • Sublists — lists your saved segments (manual and smart), lets you filter by one, and manage hidden rows.
  • Changes — tracks your unsaved edits and lets you revert them.
  • Columns — shows, hides and reorders columns; this is the grid's own column panel, not one of ListPlus's tool panels.
  • Prompts — runs AI instructions on your data.
  • Automation — the list's API connections for AI agents and scripts (set up by the workspace owner or an admin).
  • Dashboard — charts of your column values; click a chart to filter the grid.

Enrich, Prompts and Automation only appear if you can edit the list. Every member of the list's workspace can; the only read-only case is a public list opened by someone outside that workspace. Up to two panels can be open side by side (three on very wide windows); opening one more closes whichever was opened first. Columns is the exception — it opens on its own and never counts toward that limit.

Selection bar and status bar#

Ticking row checkboxes opens a selection bar above the grid with actions for just those rows — see selecting-rows. The status bar along the bottom shows view chips, your tag chips, a New row button, credits spent on this list, and zoom — see search-filter-sort-replace for the view chips and saving-is-manual for the Changes chip.

Cell display#

Hover an empty cell in a column that supports enrichment (email, phone, company and similar) and a small sparkle icon appears on its left edge, labelled with what it will do — "Find Email," "Reveal Mobile" and so on. Clicking it looks up just that value for that one row. Filled cells and columns that aren't enrichable never show it — see which-enrich-button for every way to start an enrichment.

FAQ#

What panels does the list editor have?#

Nine panels are available from the panel picker (the More button) in the list header: Essentials holds Analyze, Record and Enrich; More tools holds Sublists, Changes, Columns, Prompts, Automation and Dashboard. Each opens what its name suggests — Record shows one row's full data, Changes tracks your unsaved edits, and Dashboard shows charts you can click to filter the grid.

How many panels can I have open at the same time?#

Up to two panels can be docked open side by side (three on very wide windows), and opening one more closes whichever was opened first. Columns is the exception — it's the grid's own column panel and opens on its own, so it never counts toward that limit.

What's the difference between the Analyze, Record and Enrich icons and the More button?#

Analyze, Record and Enrich have their own icon buttons in the header for one-click access, while every other panel only opens through the More button next to them. Clicking a panel from the More list adds it alongside whatever's already open; clicking one of the three quick icons instead shows only that panel, closing any others.

Why don't I see Enrich, Prompts or Automation in my panel list?#

Those three panels only appear if you can edit the list. Every member of the list's workspace can, so they're hidden only when you open someone else's public list, which is read-only for you. Analyze, Record, Sublists, Changes, Columns and Dashboard stay available either way.

What's the difference between the Record and Enrich panels?#

Record shows everything ListPlus knows about the row you've clicked, including enrichment results not yet filled into a cell. Enrich is where you start new lookups for that row or the whole list — see which-enrich-button for how to pick the right option.

What's the small icon that appears when I hover an empty cell?#

A small sparkle icon appears on the left edge of an empty cell whose column supports enrichment, such as email, phone or company, labelled with what it will do (for example "Find Email" or "Reveal Mobile"). Clicking it looks up just that value for that one row; filled cells and non-enrichable columns don't get it.

What are the Find & evaluate field and Reload button in the header for?#

Find & evaluate is the header's search-and-filter field — see search-filter-sort-replace for how it works — and the same spot lets you pick a campaign-ready evaluation such as Cold Email. Reload only appears on lists imported from an online source and pulls fresh data from that source into the list.
