Leave, remove, transfer or delete a workspace
This article covers the ways a workspace membership ends or changes hands: leaving a workspace, removing someone, transferring ownership and deleting a workspace for good.
Leave a workspace#
- Switch to the workspace, open the workspace menu → Workspace settings.
- Click Leave workspace and confirm.
You lose access to the workspace's lists, contacts and pipelines right away. The lists and contacts you added stay in the workspace for the others. You can only come back with a new invite. The owner can't leave; they transfer the workspace first or delete it.
Remove a member#
Owners and admins open the workspace menu → Members & invites, click the remove icon next to the person and confirm ("Remove … from the workspace?"). Their access ends immediately, and any open invites they sent are withdrawn. The data they added stays in the workspace. The owner can't be removed.
Transfer ownership#
The owner pays for the workspace with their plan and credits. To hand that over to someone else:
- The new owner must already be a member (Member or Admin).
- Open the workspace menu → Workspace settings → Transfer ownership, select the member and click Transfer.
- The member sees the offer in Members & invites and clicks Accept.
After the transfer, plan and credits run through the new owner, and you stay in the workspace as an admin. The offer is valid for 7 days, and you can take it back with Withdraw until it is accepted. Credits are not moved: the new owner's own balance pays from then on, and the workspace's lists count toward the new owner's record limit.
Delete a workspace#
Only the owner can delete a workspace, and it can't be undone.
- Open the workspace menu → Workspace settings.
- Under Danger zone, click Delete workspace.
- Type the workspace name and click Delete permanently.
This deletes all lists and their data, saved contacts, the Inbox (including its forwarding addresses), AI Research runs, pipelines (and the links they sent out), connected accounts, API connections, the Block List and the usage history of that workspace. All other members lose access. Your credits and plan are not affected. If the app says "Not everything could be deleted", click Delete again to remove the rest.
After deleting, you land in another workspace you belong to. If it was your only one, ListPlus creates a new, empty workspace for you.
Deleting your whole account#
Deleting a workspace doesn't delete your account. To delete your account, see "Deleting lists, contacts, and your account".

FAQ#
How do I leave a workspace?#
Switch to the workspace, open the workspace menu → Workspace settings and click Leave workspace, then confirm. You lose access to its lists, contacts and pipelines immediately and can only come back with a new invite. The owner can't leave without transferring the workspace first.
What happens to my lists when I leave a workspace?#
They stay in the workspace, because lists and contacts belong to the workspace, not to the person who created them. If you need a copy, export the lists before you leave. Your own workspaces and your credits are not affected.
How do I remove someone from our workspace?#
Owners and admins open the workspace menu → Members & invites, click the remove icon next to the person and confirm. Their access ends right away and their open invites are withdrawn. Everything they added stays in the workspace.
Why can't I leave a workspace I own?#
The owner pays for the workspace, so it can't be left without an owner. Transfer ownership to another member first (Workspace settings → Transfer ownership), then leave, or delete the workspace.
How do I transfer a workspace to someone else?#
Open the workspace menu → Workspace settings → Transfer ownership, select a member and click Transfer. The member has 7 days to accept it in Members & invites. After that, their plan and credits pay for the workspace and you stay as an admin.
Do my credits move with the workspace when I transfer it?#
No. Credits and plans stay with each person. After the transfer, the new owner's balance pays for everything in the workspace, and its lists count toward the new owner's record limit.
How do I delete a workspace?#
Only the owner can: open the workspace menu → Workspace settings → Danger zone → Delete workspace. Type the workspace name and click Delete permanently. This can't be undone.
What is deleted when I delete a workspace?#
All its lists and their data, saved contacts, the Inbox and its forwarding addresses, AI Research runs, pipelines and the links they sent, connected accounts, API connections, the Block List and the usage history. All other members lose access. Your credits and plan stay untouched.
Can I get a deleted workspace back?#
No, deleting a workspace is permanent and there is no trash. Export any list you want to keep before deleting.
