Hiding vs. deleting rows

ListPlus has two separate ways to remove a row from view: hiding, which is reversible and keeps the data, and deleting, which removes the row from the list.

Hiding rows#

Select one or more rows and open the selection bar's ⋯ menu, or right-click a row and choose Hide N Row(s). Hidden rows disappear from every view of the list. To find them again, open the Sublists panel and click the Hidden rows entry below All, or run Show Ignored Rows from Commands (⌘K) — Show All Rows brings the normal view back. Hiding rows saves itself automatically in the background; you don't need to click Save.

Restoring hidden rows#

In the hidden-rows view, select the rows and click Restore, or right-click and choose Restore N Row(s). This is also saved automatically — the rows are back in your normal views immediately.

Deleting rows#

Select rows and choose Delete from the selection bar's ⋯ menu, or right-click and choose Delete N Row(s). Unlike hiding, deleting is a regular unsaved edit: the rows disappear from the grid right away but stay in the list until you click Save. Before saving, you can undo a delete with All → Revert in the Changes panel; once saved, the rows are gone and can't be brought back.

Deleting rows is only available if the list allows it — see "List Settings" for the Allow deleting rows toggle. If it's off, no Delete option appears in the selection bar or the right-click menu.

What's the difference between hiding and deleting a row?#

Hiding removes a row from view but keeps its data — you can bring it back anytime with Restore. Deleting removes the row from the list entirely once you save; there's no bringing it back after that.

How do I hide rows?#

Where do hidden rows go, and how do I find them again?#

Do I need to click Save after hiding or restoring rows?#

No — hiding and restoring both sync to the server automatically in the background, unlike a normal cell edit.

How do I delete rows, and can I undo it?#

Why don't I see a Delete option for my rows?#

Deleting is only available when the list allows it. Check List Settings → General → Allow deleting rows; if it's switched off, no Delete option appears for anyone on that list.
