AI#
- AI commands (chatting with your list to filter, fix or transform rows) are billed by usage, typically from around 0.2 credits for a short command — the exact amount is shown right after each reply.
- AI columns (a column you define in your own words) are billed the same way, but ListPlus first groups rows that share the same input, so you pay once per unique value, not once per row.
- Column type detection during import runs automatically on every import and is billed by usage, the same way as AI commands — there's no option to skip it upfront; a Skip AI Enhancement button only appears if AI is unavailable or the analysis hits an error.
- AI Analysis (gender detection, name splitting, job title classification, industry standardization, address enrichment), run from a list's Enrich menu, is billed by usage the same way as AI commands — whether you run it on one row or many.
- The only free option in the Enrich menu's AI and local groups is cleaning phone numbers into international format ("Local (Free & Instant)") — it runs in your browser with no AI call and no credits.
AI Research#
AI Research is metered while it runs, based on the actual reasoning steps it takes — there's no flat fee per lead. You need at least 1 credit in your balance to start a run, and it automatically limits its own steps to what you can afford, delivering up to 25 matches. Resume on a stopped or finished run finds up to 25 more matches and is metered the same way, up to 200 matches per run in total. Three paid sources are opt-in checkboxes you switch on before a run — Reddit search, X/Twitter search and a technology lookup (BuiltWith) — and each is billed per search call, not once per run: the agent can call a paid source several times during one run if it needs to. Reddit search costs 6 credits per call (up to 25 results), X/Twitter search costs 3 credits per call (up to 50 posts), and a technology lookup by domain costs 0.25 credits per call — all three charged for the call itself, whether or not it turns up something useful. Google search, used throughout every run, is always free.

Starting a LinkedIn import needs the full maximum in your balance up front — the base fee plus the maximum results you asked for × the per-result rate — even though the actual charge (based on results actually returned) is only deducted once the import finishes. If the import returns zero results, only the base fee is charged (30 credits for Sales Navigator, 2 for Company Employees); Profile Search, Post Reactions and Post Comments have no base fee, so they cost nothing when they find nothing. Creating an empty list, without importing anything, is free.
For advanced users#
AI commands, AI columns and AI Analysis are all metered on the actual input and output text processed, not a flat per-call price — a short command can cost less than 0.2 credits, a long or complex one more. LinkedIn imports are charged once, after the import finishes and the results are known, based on rows actually returned — but the balance check that lets the import start in the first place requires the full worst-case amount to be available. AI Research's paid sources are charged before each individual call runs, not on a hit, because the underlying search providers bill per call rather than per usable result — and a single run can trigger several calls to the same source.

Does recognising my columns during import cost credits?#
Yes — ListPlus automatically uses AI to recognise your column types from the headers and sample values during every import, billed by usage the same way as AI commands. A Skip AI Enhancement button only appears if AI is unavailable or the analysis hits an error; it isn't an upfront option to avoid the cost.

Why am I charged for a LinkedIn import after it finishes, not before?#
ListPlus only knows the final result count once a LinkedIn import completes, so the credits — the base fee plus the per-result charge — are deducted then, not when you start it. You still see the estimated maximum cost before you start, based on how many results you asked for.
How much balance do I need to start a LinkedIn import?#
You need the full maximum cost available in your balance before a LinkedIn import can start — the base fee plus the per-result rate × the maximum results you asked for. The actual charge, based on the results you actually get, is deducted only once the import finishes.
Am I charged if a LinkedIn import finds nothing?#
Only the base fee is charged if a LinkedIn import returns zero results — 30 credits for a Sales Navigator search, 2 for Company Employees — since running the search itself has a cost regardless of the outcome. Profile Search, Post Reactions and Post Comments imports have no base fee, so they cost nothing when they find nothing, and you're never charged the per-result portion for results you didn't get.
