Someone asks where I got their data, or wants it deleted
If someone in one of your lists asks where you got their information, or asks you to delete it, that request is addressed to you, not to ListPlus. As covered in "Your responsibilities under GDPR," you're the controller for the contacts you source and contact through ListPlus, so answering data-subject requests like these is your responsibility. ListPlus is not a party to that conversation and doesn't answer on your behalf.
What the person can ask for#
Under GDPR a person can ask for access to their data, including any available information about its source (Art. 15, 15(1)(g)). They can ask for erasure (Art. 17) and object to direct marketing (Art. 21). You generally have to respond without undue delay and within one month; that can be extended by two further months where necessary (Art. 12(3)). Exceptions exist, so check with a lawyer.
What ListPlus gives you to answer with#
- The source of a value. Click the number badge in the sparkles column at the right edge of the row. The row's record panel opens, and each enrichment result there is headed with its provider and type, for example "Prospeo · Contact". See "Where does the data come from?" for what each provider covers. The record panel only shows sources for enrichment results — for rows you imported from a file or from LinkedIn, the source is that file or import, so keep track of it yourself.
- Removing a row. Select the row (or rows) and use the selection bar's ⋯ menu → Delete, then click Save in the list header. Deleting is an unsaved change like any edit — see "Selecting rows and the selection bar" for the exact steps. This removes the row from that list only, not from other lists, Saved (Gemerkt), the Inbox, a file you exported, or a CRM you pushed it to.
- Several workspaces. Each workspace has its own lists, Saved, Inbox and pipelines, so if you work in more than one, check each of them for the person (switch workspaces in the Home header or the avatar menu). If a whole workspace is no longer needed, its owner can delete it with everything in it at once — see "Leave, remove, transfer or delete a workspace".
- The Block List. Add the person's email or domain in the Settings panel (gear icon at the bottom of the left rail) → Block List so ListPlus flags any matching row across the workspace's lists going forward (each workspace has its own Block List) — useful once someone objects to being contacted again. It flags rows for review; it doesn't delete anything by itself. See "Block List and the do-not-contact check."
What ListPlus does not do#
ListPlus does not contact the person for you, does not confirm deletion to them, and does not keep a record you can hand over as proof of a completed request. A file export carries no added source field, so if you'll need to answer "where did this come from" later, note the provider from the record panel before you export or delete the row.
This page is general orientation, not legal advice — for how to phrase a response, applicable deadlines, or anything beyond what's described here, talk to a lawyer.

FAQ#
Someone asked where I got their data — what do I do?#
Answer them yourself; you're the controller for the contacts you source through ListPlus, not ListPlus. Click the number badge in the sparkles column at the right edge of the row to open its record panel, where each enrichment result is headed with its provider and type, for example "Prospeo · Contact", then use that in your reply.
How long do I have to respond to a data request?#
You generally have to respond without undue delay and within one month of the request, extendable by two further months where necessary under GDPR Article 12(3). People can ask for access to their data including its source, erasure, or to object to direct marketing. Exceptions exist, so check with a lawyer for your specific case.
Someone asked me to delete their data — does ListPlus do that for me?#
No — ListPlus doesn't contact people or process deletion requests on your behalf. You remove the row yourself: select it, use the selection bar's ⋯ menu → Delete, then click Save — deleting is an unsaved change like any edit.
Does deleting the row also remove it from an export or CRM I already sent it to?#
No — this removes the row from that list only, not from other lists, Saved (Gemerkt), the Inbox, a file you exported, or a CRM you pushed it to. Remove it separately wherever else you've already sent it.
I work in several workspaces — where do I have to look for someone's data?#
In every workspace you belong to, because each one has its own lists, Saved contacts, Inbox and pipelines. Switch workspaces in the Home header or the avatar menu and search each one; if a whole workspace is no longer needed, its owner can delete it with all its data at once.
How do I find which provider a specific value came from?#
Click the number badge in the sparkles column at the right edge of the row; the record panel that opens headers each enrichment result with its provider and type, for example "Prospeo · Contact".
Should I add the person to the Block List after a request like this?#
It's a sensible step if they've objected to being contacted again: add their email or domain in the Settings panel (gear icon at the bottom of the left rail) → Block List, and ListPlus flags any matching row across that workspace's lists going forward (each workspace has its own Block List). It doesn't delete the row for you — you still do that yourself. Keeping their email on the Block List after an erasure request means you keep that one data point; ask a lawyer whether to keep it.
Can ListPlus confirm to the person that their data was deleted?#
No — ListPlus isn't party to that request, so it can't send a confirmation on your behalf. Any reply to the person has to come from you.
Is this page legal advice on handling data-subject requests?#
No. It describes what ListPlus provides so you can respond; it isn't a substitute for legal advice on deadlines, required content, or how to phrase your reply.
What if I want to delete my whole account, not just one contact's data?#
That's a different request — see "Deleting lists, contacts, and your account" for how to close your own ListPlus account, which is separate from responding to someone else's data request.
